It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently. – Anthony Robbins

Ok so through out my entire life career, fitness, friends, family, nutrition, literally EVERYTHING 🤯I have strived to stay consistent about consistency- lol. Even the best business plans will fail without a dedication to consistency. Hello government....totally another blog. Kidding ☠️

As I’ve pondered this quite a lot as of late, it really comes down to If I say I'm going to do something, I do it. Period. If I say I'm going to be somewhere, I'm there. If I initiate a new business prospect, idea or client, I follow through. In my experience, consistency is a must as you build and grow your any relationship or business- not to mention your own self worth and integrity. It all melts into the other. If you are not consistent with yourself, chances are you’re not consistent with anything. Yikes 👀 Let’s discuss further...

Here's why:

1. Consistency allows for measurement⚖️

Until you have tried something new for a period of time and in a consistent manner, you can't decide if it works or not.  How do you measure effectiveness if what you are measuring isn't performed consistently?

I typically give new clients small weekly and sometimes daily goals to chisel away at. I help them restructure their regimen with food and fitness and give them the opportunity to succeed or wind back to doing what hasnt worked for them. You see to change a way of living in ANY way takes time and CONSISTENCY. It has to be worked on daily and weekly and somewhere around month 4/5 usually things start to click and new habits and healthier more balanced ways of living start to emerge. And you know what!? This is true in ALL areas of life! It typically takes an individual up to six months before really evaluating whether a success or failure. And it’s not even a failure because along that journey you’ve grown and evolved within that category of your life you were working on in the first place!🥇🌟It's often minor tweaking instead of major overhauls that make the difference. So don’t quit your journey no matter where you’re at. Stay true and follow that road- no diverting just hunker down for at least 6 months. I bet you’ll be further along than you thought! 🥳

2. Consistency needs accountability.

Along these lines is equally important to set a deadline. The simple fact that there is a set time to is often the catalyst that moves an initiative along to a successful end. Let your accountability partner know your deadline. Write it down and look at it daily. Read it out loud and picture yourself already experiencing this new way or new you!

3. Track your progress👊🏻

With my clients we track measurements, weight and we do weekly check in with pictures. Because pictures don’t lie and guaranteed when your down and you think you’re further away from the goal- those pictures will light a fire in you to stay the course! Maybe you’re not trying to change your body so make a track record of your spending or using a different vocabulary if that’s what you want to change. You see it is irrelevant what the goal is as long as you track your progress you KNOW there is improvement and you’re more likely to progress!

4. Progress NOT perfection💎

This is a big one here! It is not how well you do and strive for perfection. It doesn’t exist and you will fail every time. In place of negative criticism, try to acknowledge small wins every week and even daily of your progress. Just as these new changes are vital to your goals, almost more important is the way you see yourself and the way you talk to yourself. Try nourishing things for yourself and soothing experiences to calm you and make you feel good. Even if you have a bad day or fall off your individual plan. Acknowledge the down fall and say something encouraging and supportive. Then do something kind for yourself that will put you back on track. The subconscious mind is also something that changes drastically as we commit to changing ourselves for the better. So, yes every word and action can make you more successful or put you 10 steps behind. It’s always your choice. And just like a muscle you will get better at it with CONSISTENTCY.

5. Staying consistent for that 6 month time period will need some Creativity 🍀

one of the reasons people start to fall off their plans and consistentcy falls off is because they get bored. Bored with food, bored with a book, bored with a job, bored with a person. Well, guess what? That’s YOUR responsibility to make things a bit more exciting or new do you to keep on your plan. Here’s an example for the above:

1-bored with food/ fitness- seek out new workouts or meals in you tube, instagram or anywhere that are easy and fit your plan. Don’t change the entire plan you’re following rather add some new recipes and meals to the mix. Take your workout to a class you haven’t tried. Or plan a day hike somewhere with friends and get lunch after.

2- reading a book and you either have to finish it or are trying to get into it? Take your reading somewhere else. Let your surroundings inspire you or make you feel more relaxed to be able to retain the information needed.

3- stuck in a rut with a partner or friend? Make a point to go try something new together. Engage the senses or palette or do something totally physical like salsa dancing! Take a lesson to learn something you both are not experienced with😻

4- lost the work motivation?

take a lunch break outside for 30-60 min

Try getting up a stretching during the day and not sitting so much. Stretch and move while on the phone or at the computer. Bring a few things to work that make you feel inspired and good. A plant, a picture, music or a candle. And if it’s that bad - it might be time to COMMIT to making a change in your career! Start by writing down things you like to do and what your day would look like if you had THAT job!

Remember the the first step in changing anything in our lives and really experiencing change and progression, takes COMMITMENT and CONSISTENCY! Make the efforts to follow your plan for 6 months without making vast changes. Then when you’ve reached that point take the next step towards your goal or make a new one! Watch how you’re life and relationships change for the better! Not to mention who YOU see when you look into the mirror #proud 🌟

Alright let’s Do this💪🏻
